Simplesilver is not sensitive to temperature. The important thing for simplesilver to work properly is to have a good flow of water over it.
The simplesilver block comprises silicon, oxides and silver on a silica substrate. The active ingredients dissolve but the substrate remains – in fact the simplesilver™ block will look much the same at the end of the year, except that it no longer carries the active ingredients.

However the only time simplesilver doesn’t work is if there’s insufficient water flowing over it. If this happens the minerals don’t get a chance to get out into the water to do their job. Improving your water flow (by cleaning your filters, by increasing the length of time your filter pump runs each day) in most cases solves the problem.
